The IDEX diamond trading network has made it possible for members to trade lab-created diamonds for the first time.
IDEX (International Diamond Exchange) offers a live online database where members can purchase and sell any of the more than one million diamonds available.
Members who trade lab-created diamonds will be given access to all of IDEX’s guaranteed diamond transaction program, including authentication by trained gemologists and consolidated shipping from all global diamond centers.
Tamar Katzav, chief operating officer IDEX, said it was an offer that many members of the network had requested for some time.
“We believe that with the right marketing and transparent business practices, lab-grown diamonds are part of the diamond trade and here to stay,” Kataz said.
“As always IDEX strives to provide its members with the facilities to carry out their daily business online, accompanied with our top-notch trusted services.
“Many IDEX members have been waiting for us to launch this added feature, and in less than 24 hours from the time of launch we already had more than 20,000 diamonds posted for sale online, and growing rapidly as more and more members signed up to the new service.”
All lab-created diamond listings are indexed separately from natural diamonds to prevent any potential confusion.
