Australian jewellery retailers have the opportunity to win a business consultancy package valued at $5,000 as part of a new competition – with entries open now.
Based in Queensland, Retail Edge Consultants works with more than 400 independent Australian jewellery retailers to improve their stores through software and consultation.
The competition’s winner will access a consultation package focusing on seven key areas.
• Financials: Maximising cash flow, increasing profit and fine-tuning expenses.
• Inventory: Optimising inventory levels, reducing aged stock, and purchasing strategically.
• Sales: Formulating a business plan, taking action and monitoring the results.
• Marketing: Creating a budget and executing effective campaigns.
• Staff: Assessing employee effectiveness and improving performance.
• Planning: Preparing for the future of the business.
• Benchmarking: Insight into trends and best practices from hundreds of Australian stores.
General manager Leon Van Megen said that any jewellery retailer considering entering the competition must make the most of the opportunity.
“We’ll be able to help identify gaps and opportunities jewellery retailers can work on now. With this competition, it’s all at no cost to the retailer,” he told Jeweller.
“It’s all about knowing your business. That comes from understanding your reports and identifying areas for improvement.”
He added, “We know that managing your business is more challenging than ever before, and we also know that better systems, data, information, and advice make a huge difference to business performance.”
To enter the competition, retailers must set an appointment at the Retail Edge stand at one of two upcoming Australian jewellery fairs.
The first is the Jewellery Industry Fair in Melbourne on 9-10 March, and the second is the Australian Jewellery Fair on the Gold Coast on 24-25 March.
Retailers unable to attend either show can still participate in the competition by calling or emailing Retail Edge directly before entries close on 29 March.
