Informa Markets has reaffirmed plans to return the Jewelery and Gem World (JGW) trade show to Hong Kong in September of 2023.

Amid the recent relaxation of COVID pandemic restrictions in Hong Kong, Informa Markets has scheduled the Hong Kong show for seven days in September.

The show will open at Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) from 18-22 September, while the trading will continue at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center (HKCEC) from 20-24 September.

Prior to the cancellation of the past three years worth of shows, loose gemstone dealers traditionally exhibit at the AWE while jeweller suppliers are found at the HKCEC.

Celine Lau, Informa Markets director of jewelry fairs, said that organizers were confident pandemic restrictions would continue to be relaxed across the coming year, presenting Hong Kong with the opportunity to once again host one of the biggest events on the international calendar.

“Although pandemic policies remain, we are hopeful that additional easing measures will be introduced when conditions allow,” Lau told Rapaport News,

“We also held discussions with exhibitors and buyers during and after JGW Singapore, and we have received very positive feedback on our international B2B [business-to-business] shows taking place in Hong Kong in 2023.”

In September of this year, Informa Markets hosted Jewelery and Gem World Singapore, a one-off event aimed that welcomed more than 11,1000 buyers and just shy of 1,000 exhibitors.
