Bold new direction for Baume & Mercier

Watches and Wonders Geneva has come and gone for another year in Switzerland, bringing thousands of timepiece enthusiasts together for five days in one of the world’s most picturesque locations.

Watches and Wonders began on 27 March with the first five days reserved for business visitors and the press, while, the final two days are open to the general public.

One exhibitor that generated significant attention was Baume & Mercier, celebrating 50 years since the launch of the iconic Riviera model.

“To celebrate this anniversary, Baume & Mercier’s Riviera collection pays tribute to women. This is the first time since its launch in 1973 that so many Riviera models have been dedicated to women in a single year,” the company said in a statement.

“In 2023, the feminine 33 and 36-mm models are available with an array of five new dials, each offering sophisticated finishes, shimmering colors, diamonds, and interchangeable straps.

“Women may choose among the many options to shape the aura of their own styles and coordinate with their wardrobes, reflecting the spirit of the Riviera as the ultimate watch shape that has emphasized its visual appeal since its beginnings.”

At Watches and Wonders, Baume & Mercier unveiled the new lead model of the collection, the Riviera M0A10730.

The highlight of the piece is four brilliant-cut 0.05-carat diamonds, set into the polished stainless steel bezel and sun-satin dodecagonal case.

Baume & Mercier has also made three additions to the Hampton Collection with the aim of strengthening the designer spirit categorized by the brand since it was launched in 1994.

The three new models offer luminous, subtly crafted blue dials: a self-winding version, a women’s gemstone-set jewelry version, and an architectural steel version with an integrated three-row strap.

Duraflex Group Australia began supplying Australian retailers with Baume & Mercier in 2019.
