Lightbox Jewelry has announced two new design partnerships in a move to improve consumer interest in lab-created diamonds.
The company was established in 2018 by the world’s largest diamond mining company, the De Beers Group. Lightbox products are available in more than 160 stores in the US and Canada.
Lightbox is now the exclusive provider of lab-created diamonds to fine jewellery brand Roseate Jewelry, which specialises in pearl pieces. The company is based in New York and was founded by Pamela Cloud, a former chief merchandising officer at Tiffany & Co, earlier this year.
The Lightbox x Roseate Light Wand features white and pink lab-created diamonds and retailers for $US1,600 ($AU2,459). The mother-of-pearl used in the pendant is sourced from Western Australia.
Lightbox will also introduce an eight-piece capsule collection in December created in collaboration with The Future Rocks, a Hong Kong online marketplace dedicated to lab-created diamond jewellery.
White, pink, and blue diamonds are available in various cuts in the ‘Joy Collection’, including rings, earrings, and necklaces. Prices range from $US350 ($AU537) to $US1,100 ($AU1,690).
CEO Antoine Borde said this was Lightbox’s first foray into design collaboration.
“Lightbox’s reputation as a leader in the lab-grown diamond space, as well as our sustainability and quality credentials, combined with Element Six’s patented technology and innovation, have allowed us to foster relationships with some of the best retail partners in the world and we are thrilled to expand on that with our first two design-driven collaborations,” he said.
“Roseate and The Future Rocks are incredible creative and commercial partners who offer us the opportunity to continue to develop new product offerings, engage new audiences and expand our presence globally.”
Earlier this year, Lightbox completed a trial of engagement rings. The trial concluded in September, with the commercial proposition for lab-created diamond engagement rings described as ‘likely unsustainable’.
